Why Partnership?
Each of us is indebted to the role of Scripture in our own lives. We can scarcely imagine what it would be like to not to have the Bible in our own language.
Yet, 1 billion people in the world today do not have a completed Bible in their own language; 165 million people do not have a single verse of scripture in their own language.
In New York City alone there are 800 languages spoken. It seems in God’s providence that we who are living in this moment as faith leaders in Greater New York are being given an opportunity to give global leadership to encourage other cities to take up this vision. Imagine what would happen if in three years:
- The church of Greater New York assisted in the translation of the equivalent of 10 new languages
- The church of Greater New York motivated 500 other cities globally to adopt a language
Achievability

If every person in every church that has been working together the past thirty years prayed and resourced one verse per year for three years, we could translate the equivalent of 10 languages.

“Leslie and I are underwriting the cost of New Testament translations for languages in the Middle East. Only a tiny percentage of the region is Christian and has the gospel in their own language.”
Bob Doll

Mac Pier
Founder & CEO of Movement.org and Movement Day“I believe in this vision of New York City area churches working together to translate languages that don’t have the Bible. It is a historic effort no less significant that the work of Martin Luther 500 years ago to birth the Reformation.”
Eric Metaxas

George Russ
Executive Director of Metropolitan New York Baptist Association“I have experienced first-hand the power of people hearing a language spoken in their own tongue. This effort is a great way for churches in Metro New York City to impact the world. I desire to see an African language adopted by our network of churches.”
