Cultivating NextGen Leaders
The Advance Internship is an experience that invites young adults to gain real world experience through leadership development: mentorship, discipleship, and practical training.

We invite 18-28 year olds to apply for an internship opportunity to gain leadership training, 1-on-1 mentorship, and spiritual formation. Our goal is for interns to be emotionally transformed through discipleship and workforce preparation, to become influential leaders in their communities.

AIE Interns:

  • Obtain a competitive experience on their resume for future job opportunities
  • Learn first-hand management skills from a non-profit that supports urban ministry
  • Are paired with leaders within the organization for mentorship, meet weekly for discipleship and participate in hands-on leadership training.
  • Are socially and strategically engaged when assisting in our diverse events and initiatives such as Movement Day NYC, Pastors Prayer Summit, Influencer’s Forum, 10 Zip Codes Project, Advance Leadership Intensive, and much more.
  • Have to be between the ages of 18-25 and eager to learn.

AIE TESTIMONIALS
  • “Being at the internship was a mind blowing experience. One of the great values that I took with me from the program was the importance of emotional health. This has enhanced my relationship with God and with those around me. The interactions with the staff, their given insights and knowledge, and the referrals that connected with my passions were valuable in my journey. The benefit of going through the leadership training component (ALI) that was offered in the internship helped me to strategically think about the people I wanted to serve. Once I graduated from school and completed the internship, I had a deeper desire and confidence to start my own health and wellness initiative to help immigrant women and children called Care for One Care for All. ”

  • “So my experience at the internship was very life giving. Each and every week we had great discipleship meetings which helped me to grow in my spiritual walk. Throughout the internship, I learned how to cultivate and shape my business, understand the dos and don’ts in the industry, and gaining management and organizational skills.”

  • “My time at the internship was a blessing. I’ve learned and grown to an extent that I could never have imagined. With the help of weekly discipleship and 1-on-1 mentorship, I witnessed self-development like never before. This program pours into young people that not only see themselves in leadership, but also in those that are dealing with uncertainty. It’s a worthwhile experience because it’s an investment in your future.”

  • “The spiritual formation meetings helped me to open up more with others and build my relationship with God. I grew in self-awareness and it helped me to pinpoint and develop what my weaknesses and strengths were within my character. The mentors were amazing and easy to confine in. I gained a better understanding of who God was and His love for me. If there is anyone who needs help finding themselves and become spiritually and emotionally stronger, then the LEAD.NYC’s Advance Internship Experience is a great way to get started.”
